5 Cranky Cows

(we used toy cows as a manipulative)

One cranky cow said,

"moo, moo, moo!"

She found a friend;

Then there were two.

Two cranky cows

Swished their tails at a bee.

They found a friend;

Then there were three.

Three cranky cows

Went looking for one more.

They found a friend;

Then there were four.

Four cranky cows

Began to look alive.

They found a friend;

There there were five.

When five cranky cows

Began to hang around,

Soon there were NO

Cranky cows to be found!
