Green Eggs and Ham

In honor of Dr. Seuss's Birthday this week we read the book Green Eggs and Ham.

We had an egg and spoon race.  I didn't think the kids would be able to do it without dropping their eggs. Surprise!  They did well!!

We made an egg with glue and yellow food coloring, then topped it off with a green pom-pom.
Warning: you need a couple of days for it to completely dry.

I made green eggs and ham for lunch.

We learned a new song about Green Eggs and Ham too!

Brush your teeth (continued)

This was an easy craft that the kids enjoyed making.  I cut out a clip art picture of a tooth and drew a face on it.  Next I cut out a long rectangle to make the toothbrush. Next cut out a square of white paper and snip close lines to represent the bristles of a toothbrush.  Have the kids glue the project together.
We did this while singing the Dental Health song.

This craft taught the children about the different types of teeth are in your mouth.
The children proudly showed their pearly white teeth!

Brush your Teeth

Today I talked about dental health with the kids.

We sang a song to the tune of "Hokey Pokey"
You brush your teeth up and down.
You brush you teel back and forth.
You brush your teeth up and down,
and you brush them all around.

For this craft I mixed shaving cream and glue to make "toothpaste".
The kids "brushed" their tooth picture with the "toothpaste" mixture.

Love Bug

I took the idea from a ladybug craft I do in the spring to make a 'Love Bug'.  The ladybug craft has the children's thumb prints on the outside. When you open it up there is a spring time picture.

Instead we put little hearts on the outside and placed a heart on the inside with a written message to Mom and Dad.
