Making Pumpkins for Toddlers

Let toddlers rip apart pieces of orange paper and glue them onto a black circle.
Add wiggle eyes and a stem.

We used Legos to paint our pumpkins and then added a face.

Fire Prevention Week

Fire Hydrant
 Template found at: Preschoolcoloringbook.com

Stop, Drop, and Roll!!
Talk to the students about the importance of knowing how to Stop, Drop, and Roll in case their clothes were to catch fire.  Help youngsters understand that it is important not to run because it will make the fire spread.  Show youngsters how to stop, lie on the ground, and roll back and forth.

Materials for one headband:
red construction paper (hat template found at The Mailbox)
yellow construction paper (badge template for at The Mailbox)
9"x12" sheet of white paper
large, black circles (I used a circle punch)
3"x24" white construction paper strip
scissors, glue and tape

Steps:
To make two ears, trace your shoes on a sheet of white paper. Cut out the tracings.
Glue black circles**
Cut out the hat and badge. Glue the badge to the hat.
Blue the hat and ears to the strips.
Size the strip to fit your head and tape the ends in place.

**another option is using black paint or stamp pad to make fingerprints on the white ears.

Brave Firefighters
tune: The Itsy-Bitsy Spider
The brave firefighters
pakup a great big hose.
They hop on a fire truck
and then away they go.
They put out the fire
with a great big water spray.
Then they go home feeling proud
of their very busy day!

I'm a Firefighter
tune: I'm a Little Teapot
I'm a firefighter, my name is John.
I put my boots and helmet on.
I hurry to the fire and give a shout,
with a burst of water,
the fire is out!!
