Butterfly

This craft was made with melted crayons.  It was very easy to do and the kids loved all the bright colors.
I did black butterfly cut outs because I thought the colors would 'pop' out, but next time I'd like to try white just to see the difference.

~~
First the kids sprinkled color shreds of crayons all over one side of the butterfly.

Then we folded the butterfly in half.

(The next step an adult does).
Put the folded butterfly in between newspaper.
Take a heated iron and press on the paper until the crayons are melted.

Open the butterfly up and look at all the pretty colors!
Attach yellow pipe cleaners to finish the butterfly.

The Bear Went Over The Mountain

The kids learned the song "The Bear Went Over The Mountain".

Then I showed them how to sing it in sign language.

Scissors

The kids are learning to cut with scissors.
I also taught them how to walk the correct way with scissors.
There was a huge pile of cut up construction paper on the floor by the time the kids were done cutting!

Mother's Day

The kids painted a flower pot and then we filled it with dirt and flowers.  They also made cards and bouquet of flowers. The girls and boys were so proud of their gifts for mom.
