A Tisket, A Tasket...

Today we learned the song "A Tisket, A Tasket" and made our craft to relate to the song.

A tisket, a tasket, a green and yellow basket.
I sent a flower to my love and on the way I dropped it.
(at this point the kids dropped their flowers on the floor).
I dropped it, I dropped it, and on the way I dropped it.
A little boy (girl) picked it up and put it in his (her) pocket.
(kids picked up their flowers and inserted into their pocket).

Garden Theme

This week we began a Garden Theme.
I showed the children seeds and we talked about what grows from seeds.
I explained how seeds need the sun and water to grow.
Next we took wet paper towels and wrapped the seeds, placed them in a ziploc bag and taped them to a window.  In a few days the seeds began to sprout.
I planned on taking the children outdoors to plant the seeds, but our weather did not cooperate. So the kids took the seeds home to plant in their yards.

The worksheet we completed was "Mole's Garden".  The kids colored in the picture, glued brown pieces of paper on for dirt in the garden. Then I put some glue on their garden and the kids sprinkled bird food.

St. Patricks Day Celebration

Aunt Tami's Leprechauns!

"Catch the Leprechaun" game was played first.
Mr. Leprechaun was hiding through the play room
and each child had to find one.
Pot of Gold craft was made with Corn Puffs.
The kids glued the "Gold" on top of the pot.

Mr. Leprechaun also left a treat for the kids.
Inside the treat were 'gold coins'.
Leprechaun bags were made to take the Leprechaun snack home.
Mr. Leprechaun left cupcakes for snack time.

A Leprechaun song was sung while dancing an Irish Jig,
which mainly consisted of just jumping up and down.
Mr. Leprechaun left a surprise too.
After lunch, Green Ice Cream was served!

One Windy Day

Aunt Tami's Sample
Little Miss M's picture.

The 2 & 3 year olds learned about Wind.  I took an osculating fan and let the air blow on the children. Then I explained how the wind outside felt the same way and could even fly a kite.  They were so excited to color in their own mini-kites. They even drew the strings.
