Snowflakes

To was a fun day! Sprinkling snowflakes with pretty colors.
They will make a pretty decoration hanging from the windows.

The kids traced lines from snowflakes to the ground.

It hasn't snowed outside, but the kids had fun with snowflakes indoors!

The Mitten

The kids made their very own mittens after reading "The Mitten" by Jan Brett.

They especially like the part when the animals exploded out of the mitten
 once the mouse squeezed in.

BOOKS

SONGS
Oh, My Mittens
(tune: Clementine)
Oh, my mittens! Oh, my Mittens!
So soft and warm and snug.
All the fleece that's on the inside
Gives my hands a winter hug!

GAMES
Have each student lace together two mitten cutouts, leaving an opening at the cuff. Reread "The Mitten" and have the children place each animal card in the mitten at the appropriate time.

What should Teddy wear?

This is a cute booklet that the children made.
They had to pick out the correct color and follow my directions.

The last page was a little bit tricky because they kids had to use the right colors from the previous page to make Teddy's winter clothes.
When they were done, I punched two holes in the top and joined the pages together with yarn to make a booklet.

Riding Bikes

It's too cold outside to play, so I brought the bikes inside.  They haven't been on the bikes in a few months, so it feels like something new. The kids are having so much fun riding around the house.

This is little A's first time on a bike.

Snowmen

With this activity the children learned about counting to 3.
Three snowmen, three buttons.

This activity was just to have fun painting snowflakes and snow on their snowmen picture.
